Development of Semi-Conductors and Pulsed Power Sensors in Russia

There are semi-conductors of appointed materials. Their resistance must be among that of a conductor and a non-conductor. The resistance of semiconductors also depends on changes in temperature or added dashes.

The term “dashes” stands for the other elements mixed to the material. The complete mixture characterizes the semi-conductors as thyristors of type-n or type-t.

Diodes and transistors are produced of those two variants of semi-conductors. Usually silicon is applied to produce semiconductors these days.

Diode in its turn is the electronic unit produced of semiconductor material. It makes electrical current flow just in a single sense. There is a piece of + (positive) construction, - (negative) construction and so-called pn-transfer appointed as barrier level in every diode. Diodes create electrical schemes changing between direct and alternating current. Just a 1/2 of the processes or cycle is to be completed because diodes let current go just in a single direction. Specialists name such a combination a rectifier.

LED (light diodes) is one more variant of diodes. Such diodes are applied in case it's necessary to create light at low voltages and eventually make no heat. Those diodes are used in all units of contemporary electronic devices for example TV sets or stereo units in order to sign the standby state.

The extent of thyristors manufactures was led by Moore's law. What is the most important factor to make complicated power semiconductor equipment at smaller cost? Surely lithography. For optical lithography is already outdated, there's these days a tendency for new technologies. It is now gradually being replaced by more up-to-date ultraviolet lithography and nano-imprint lithography. X-ray lithography and electron beam lithography today are also thought to be of high capability.

Such a useful thing as voltage sensors was brought into life in Russia. Sensors are applied in many devices for different purposes. They meet their use in commercial, manufacture and everyday devices. The form and size of the igbt sensor can differ according to the kind of gadget. So they may be little (as in some light detectors) or complicated (counters that sign radiation loss).

Alone the current sensor won't do. There are lots of ways for applying power system dispatchers. They are necessary to maintain system parameters like voltage, frequency, power flow, to keep an eye on the state of circuit breakers in dependent station and the scheduled interchange of power with the neighboring power systems. System signals and the processes against them are also in their supervisory control.

The controllers work well in all these occasions if they are provided with a complete snap-shot of the power system. The information is got from some computer consoles in various sub-stations. With the use of respective interfacing elements the status of CB's, igct, isolators and analog values such as MVAR, MW, KV, Amps or others was found out in the RTU. Russia and China are now the most active exporters in this sphere.
